successful leadership experience working with global food manufacturers,
in both domestic and export markets. Over the course of his career, he
has played a senior role in three major mergers, two acquisitions, and
one of the largest leveraged buy-out’s in history. A passionate
change agent and adept communicator, Rick is regularly recognized for
his ability to develop best-in-class sales structures, and for his success
in building and maintaining highly successful sales teams.
SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Delivered annual revenues approaching $500m, and managed component expenses
in excess of $80m, through an organization of over 100 sales professionals.
Led a sales organization through a tumultuous three-year period of divestiture
uncertainty, delivering on-plan performance, retaining a committed sales
and support team, while maintaining customer loyalty and engagement.
Drove critical change by moving the sales structure from the historical
geography-based model to a customer-aligned organization with a powerful
support structure.
Transitioned the selling organization from a dated, relationship-based
process, to a team of disciplined, fact-based, category management professionals,
over a four year period, positioning it as one of the top three sales
organizations in the industry as ranked by industry customers.
Reduced functional operating costs by 40% while delivering targeted revenues
and maintaining customer expectations.
Formed part of the senior management team who developed and delivered
10 high-level presentations to prospective purchasers, their bankers and
legal council for the divestiture of a $500m division.
Demonstrated the characteristics of adaptability, resilience and change
leadership while reporting to nine different CEO’s, Presidents,
or General Managers over thirteen years, in the same division
