The Osborne Group was hired by the Board of Directors to recruit for a CEO. The previous CEO was retiring after a long successful career. The volunteer Board had no experience in hiring a new CEO and needed support throughout the search and selection process. They wanted to work with an organization that would partner with then and become part of their team. The Board wanted to go beyond the typical search process.
The Osborne Group is not a search firm. We provide a flexible approach and work closely with our client. In this case, we became a member of the hiring team during the search and supported our client in all facets of the search from the development of job requirements through to negotiating a contract:
o Facilitated a session with the Board to develop job requirements, skills, competencies, performance expectations and to identify "fit".
o Posted the job with relevant sources and on job boards.
o Screened applicants for required qualifications
o Conducted reference checks and behavioral assessments to ensure the right fit
o Developed a behavioral and situational interview and coached the Board on interviewing techniques
o Participated in the interviews with the board and facilitated the decision making process
o Developed a contract and successfully negotiated with the final candidate
