Experienced Interim Leadership When Business Continuity Matters

Your business may require an interim leader for many reasons: an unexpected resignation or termination, a leave of absence, a transition period, or a new initiative that demands experienced leadership not currently available within your team.

An interim executive can provide short-term stability, maintain business momentum, and give the CEO, owner, or board the time and support needed to determine the right long-term leadership path.

The Osborne team is made up of senior executives with significant leadership experience across a broad range of organizations, sectors, and functional areas, including CEO, COO, CFO, CIO, CHRO, SVP, VP, executive director, and general manager roles.

With their depth of experience, our principals can step into complex situations, provide steady leadership, and help your organization continue moving forward with confidence.

What Are Our Clients Telling Us?

We need leadership continuity during a transition.

An unplanned leadership gap due to resignation, termination, or leave of absence can disrupt focus and business performance. Interim executive leadership provides stability, clarity, and experienced day-to-day leadership during periods of uncertainty.

We need experienced leadership for a specific initiative.

When a new initiative, restructuring, or strategic shift requires skills that don’t exist internally, an interim executive can provide immediate expertise and guidance without the long-term commitment of a permanent hire.

We need experienced leadership but can’t afford a full-time executive position.

When business growth accelerates and you need to expand your executive ranks, a fractional executive can provide senior-level expertise at an affordable cost.

We need senior-level help to address complex challenges.

Certain situations, such as mergers and acquisitions, capital projects, or organizational redesign, require seasoned leadership to manage complexity, mitigate risk, and keep the business moving forward.

Interim and Fractional Executive Leadership Services

Interim and Fractional Executive Leadership

We provide interim and fractional executives with the skills and experience that match your organization’s needs. Our principals bring a minimum of 8 years of executive experience, with most having over 20 years in senior leadership roles across a wide range of organizations and sectors.

Interim executives are available on short notice and can serve for 1 or 2 months up to several years. Fractional executives are also available immediately and their time can vary from several days per month to 2 to 4 days per week for as long as required.

We can serve as:

  • Interim or fractional CEO, COO, CFO, CIO, or CHRO
  • Interim or fractional Vice President or senior functional leader

Our principals provide strategic direction, operational and financial oversight, leadership to senior management teams, and support the recruitment and onboarding of permanent executives.

Interim Leadership in Practice

Interim leadership can take many forms, depending on organizational needs and budget. Our flexible and affordable terms allow businesses to inject experience and knowledge quickly and cost-effectively.
Examples include:

  • Extended leave replacements, including fractional roles (1–3 days per week)
  • Short-term executive assignments to implement difficult or time-sensitive change
  • Merger or acquisition support, where experienced leadership is critical during integration

Fractional or Interim Finance Roles

We have deep experience providing fractional or interim finance executives who support organizations through transition and growth. This may include:

  • Knowledge transfer from departing finance leaders
  • Oversight of day-to-day finance operations and internal controls
  • Management of accounting systems and financial reporting
  • Payroll, accounts payable, and receivables oversight
  • Government reporting and remittances
  • Coordination with banks, auditors, and external partners
